One of the most buzzed about movies of the year, The Hunger Games, made its way to the cinemas last week and I was glad to see it on the first day of screening.

Set in a post-Apocalyptic world where people are divided into different districts, the Capitol or the government holds the Huger Games. It's annual event where two random persons, one boy and one girl, at a certain age, are chosen to compete with other chosen participants from other districts and only one will survive and be declared as the winner. The main story is about Katniss and Peeta, the two competitors from district 12, and their entire experience during the game but most importantly, the romance that sparked between them. The story also tackles other problems like the rebellion against the government and how everyone will try to survive.

The movie was done very well and it deserved all the good reviews it got. The acting, the costumes and the special effects are on point. The movie felt a little rushed and some characters were underdeveloped but it's quite understandable considering it runs for more than 2 hours and you can't really fit the whole book in the movie.

I can't wait for the next installment!Right now, the only movie I'm waiting to come out this year next is The Avengers:)

My mom arrived from her flight to the US and got me some of the cds I wanted!I gave her a list of cds a few months ago because these cds were not available here. She had a hard time looking for them before and this was her second try to look for them and I'm glad she found them. Just in case you can't see the picture clearly, I got the following cds:

Earlier today, I bought my movie ticket for the showing of The Hunger Games tomorrow!I can't wait to see the film!

I just have to let this out. I just watched the Pretty Little Liars season 2 finale and, oh man, I was very disappointed. They've said they were not going to follow the books and they just completely did that. I completely figured out it was going to be Mona when she was getting a lot of screentime and the others are missing or had a very limited time. They did leave out some mysteries for next season like what Jenna was up to or the woman in the Black Swan outfit,Maya's death. I guess the biggest mystery is who are part of the A-team, now that we know Mona is just a puppet. I could go on for more but it's not worth it.

My last few posts have been about shows and concerts I've been to and this new one is the same. But it might be one of the last one in a long time.

Last week, I watched a concert called Smash Project that features The Cab,Cobra Starship,Dashboard Confessional and The Used. It is marketed as a fusion of several rock bands in one show. I like all the bands in the line-up so I bought a ticket the week before.

Before the show, I made it quite early in the venue so I had early dinner, even though lines were already formed at the gate. I had paid for a reserved seat so it wasn't a problem for me. They started to let people in at exactly 6:00 pm. Due to the long line, I decided to wait and grabbed myself a copy of The Cab's album in the small cd booth set up outside. I was surprised that even inside the venue, the long lines were still there. It turns out that the bands were still having a soundcheck so the people were still not allowed to get to their seats. Fortunately for those people with reserved seats like me, they don't have to rush inside and bear the heat.

They finally opened the doors and I got to my seat immediately. The stage was very big and there were no seats on the patron area. It was one of, if not the first, times that I felt I was really attending a rock concert since they usually put seats even if it was supposed to be an upbeat show. Smart move by the organizers.

As usual, they were showing trailers of upcoming shows to be held in the venue and I found out Lifehouse are coming in May and I haven't seen them before since my fascination for the band didn't form until 2010 so I really hope I would get to watch the show.

Anyway, the show started with a lot of local rock acts and one Malaysian band opening up the show. Typecast,Urbandub,Chicosci,One Buck Short and Slapshock. I'm not really a fan of the local rock scene but they did a pretty good job and people were entertained.

The Cab finally started the main show. I secretly wanted them to be the last act since they were my favorite in the line-up but I totally expected them to start. They sang a lot of songs I like and it's nice that other people know them too. Cobra Starship was the second act and they were fun on stage!Gabe really knows how to work up the crowd and their female member, Victoria, is really pretty. This is the second time I've seen them since their 2010 visit here in Manila. They sang some of the songs they performed but I was happy to hear them perform their new songs from their latest album. Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional took the stage afterwards and it was a delight to hear the crowd sing along to every song.He was definitely impressed by the audience. It was already past midnight by the time The Used came out but that didn't bother anyone and the energy was still there. The crowd really enjoyed their set and Chris Carrabba even joined them in the encore performance which shows how much these bands admire each other.

The show wended around 1:00 am but I'm lucky I got home safe!Hoping to see all the bands again soon as they promised they would all come back. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's waiting.
