January has been a good month so far. I just celebrated my 22nd birthday last Friday and had dinner at Yakimix GB3 with my mom,my aunt and uncle. It was my second time to eat in that restaurant. I really enjoyed the first time I ate there so I knew that it was where I wanted to have my birthday dinner. We were unlucky to not get a reservation because it was already fully booked but I insisted on going and fortunately, we got ourselves listed in the waiting list and were among the first ones to be seated. Me and my mom immediately ate as we waited for my aunt and uncle who arrived later on in the evening. As expected, the food was delicious! When we got home, I weighed myself and was surprised to know I gained 4 pounds! It was definitely worth it.
Just the previous day, me and my mom had lunch with my grandma, my aunt and uncle who is visiting from China. We ate at Fely J's. It was also my second time to eat in that resto. We had afternoon snacks at my aunt's condo afterwards.
Two events that also highlighted this month were two concerts I attended to, which were by Simple Plan and Katy Perry.
It was my first time to see Simple Plan. They have performed in the country several years ago but I did not get to watch them so I really wanted to see them this time especially since I love their latest album. It was held in Araneta Coliseum and I got upper A tickets. The show was fun! They were good performers and I'm glad they performed the songs I like such as Jet Lag, Loser of the Year and You Suck At Love. The opening act was Kamikazee and I was surprised I actually liked some of the songs they performed, which reminds me that I have to search them up in the net.
My mom actually bought my concert ticket as a birthday gift so I was a bit doubtful if I could watch Katy Perry's show last Sunday. It's her second time to come here and I've seen her back in 2009 so it wouldn't be so bad if I missed her but I was lucky to go!I only got a ticket for the Silver section which I would later on find out that it was a mistake. I arrived in MOA and seeing the place was jampacked, I decided I should eat first since I would most likely not get the chance to eat later on. But finding a place to eat took me to go around the entire mall just to find a resto with shorter lines and a table to eat in. After more than 30 minutes of looking, I finally found Tokyo Tokyo which as not as crowded as the other restaurants so I immediately grabbed the opportunity and ordered my food. After eating, I decided to head to the concert grounds since the show was going to start in an hour or so. Upon entering, I took time to use the portalets which was awkward since there was no light! Good thing I can still see it. I tried to find a good area with a good view until I realize that there were none. The stage were too far and some trees were blocking so I just had to pick a spot ith no trees locking. At first I thought it would go smoothly when the opening act, DJ Skeet Skleet started the show at around 8 PM hich was just on time. His set too around 30-40 mins. For some reason, the wait for Katy took 2 hours before she started! It was only after the show when she tweeted that there were security issues which caused the delay. Another problem was that the people in the Gold section were standing up in stacked up chairs so they were completely blocking the view so we mostly have to atch in the big screen. We can still see glimpses of the stage but it was very inconvenient. The sho itself was entertaining. She had good vocals all throughout the night and sang a lot of songs. I'm sure a lot of people enjoyed it. She even kissed a boy on stage whom I found out as a celebrity who I met in the gym so I ought to tease him when e see each other. The concert ended late so I decided to take a jeep instead of a cab and thankfully, I got home safely.
There are still a couple of concerts I want to atch and I hope I could do so.
