I want to write this post to say farewell to one of my favorite shows of all time. It may not have any critical acclaim or overflowing recognition but this will always be a part of my life. This is the first series that I've religiously followed and never gave up on it despite a lot of criticisms.
I can't say why I got hooked but I was looking for a tv show to watch and this caught my attention. There were several good shows that were also airing at the time this show started airing which I also watched later on but nothing made me fall in love with a show than OTH. I guess it's because it deals on teenage problems which I know I might experience later on and the fact that it had good characters that you love and hate. It's weird that this show was about the relationship and rivalry of two brothers and part of it were their girlfriends and basketball. I'm not really interested in the sport but I still understood the show as it focused more on the characters. I love that several issues were tackled and it's not your usual teen show that is all about falling in love with different people in your social circle, but you can see that the characters grow and you would want to give them a pat in the back for learning their mistakes. We've seen different characters appear on the show and some of them are the crazy ones. We've seen them be the person you wanted them to be. I would like to believe that this show has helped in making the way for the newer teen shows out there. It wouldn't last for nine seasons if it did not have any strong following. This show did not get the highest ratings but it definitely had a lot of fans.
Aside from the characters, the music is also awesome! As their producer mentioned, music is a big part of our lives and I love how it was incorporated into the show. So I want to thank everyone who was a part of this show for inspiring me throughout these years and showing me the real problems in life and also the good side of it.
It may have had its ups and downs, major characters leaving but there's always a bright spot ahead of them and I'm glad it got a chance to have a good closure.
Goodbye One Tree Hill.
