I watched this movie earlier today with little idea of what it's all about. I initially thought it was a sequel to another movie with a similar title that featured owls until I went to youtube to watch the trailer. The trailer didn't make me that interested but my only choice was this movie and The Hobbit which was also good but that one ran for around 3 hours so I decided to go watch this one instead. Also, since it was the last movie I'll watch on theaters this year, I wanted to make it a good one and dedicate this to the young children who were victims of the school shooting in Connecticut which I posted about in my previous entry.
The movie was surprisingly good. Dreamworks did a splendid job once again of keeping children's fantasies alive through the big screen. The movie were led by characters that are popular in real life such as Santa Clause, Tooth Fairy,Sandman,Easter Bunny and the main character of the movie, Jack Frost. Together, they team up to fight against the Pitch, more known as the Boogeyman. Jack is called to be one of the guardians and stop the Boogeyman from making the children stop believing in them. Jack, who is facing his own troubles, must act quickly and figure out what he is really fighting for and how good must prevail over evil.
It was a perfect movie for the holiday season and I recommend everyone to watch this with the family. There were a lot of laughs in the theater and I'm sure more will be entertained. I was also surprised to see that the voice actors were well-known such as Jude Law,Chris Pine,Isla Fisher and Hugh Jackman and I only found out when the credits started rolling in.
It was like watching a lighter version of The Avengers and I would gladly watch a sequel if ever they decide to make one.
