I just found out through my colleagues that our interns have posted a status on Facebook and let's say it wasn't nice. It even have some expletives on it. My colleagues were shocked too when they saw it. I refused to look at it but what made it look stupid was that they were my "friends" on Facebook and I can see their posts on my timeline so I saw it anyway.
I don't understand why they had to do that when I only gave them two tasks for today. They're lucky that they are not carrying the huge amount of workload that I am handling right now. I've been doing a lot of tasks, though it may not seem big in terms of quantity but it's surely more than what they have been doing. They're not even doing their jobs well. They're complaining of given too much work but whenever I see them, they're just watching videos on Youtube or Facebook and it's not even related to their tasks. They wouldn't proceed without constantly being reminded to do so.
I can't see them having a prosperous career in the future if their work ethic remains the same and they can't learn to take responsibility. They know what they were hired for and they are slacking off. I'm not saying I'm too innocent because I do tend to relax for a while but I make sure that my tasks are taken care of.
I'm not confrontational and I don't really want to have a talk with them. My supervisor even told me to report to her whenever I catch them slacking off but as much as I want to do so, I can't because that means I won't have anyone else to help me with and they are almost over with their internship. I guess I'll just give them more duties and let them whine for a bit:)
P.S. One of them stinks so bad that my nose have been clogged up lately.
