The sequel to one of last year's biggest movie came out this week. With a new director at the helm, Catching Fire is one of the most anticipated movie of the year and it's no surprise. Fans of the book and the first movie has a lot of things to look forward to.
I made sure to watch this movie the day it came out even if it was on a Thursday. Despite leaving the office a bit late, I still got to secure myself a ticket.
This book is probably my favorite in the series and the movie did justice. There were scenes in the book that I wish they would have included but overall, I like how this movie stayed more true with the book unlike the first one.
Some scenes were also disappointing like the lack of emotion during Mag's death as well as the lack of emphasis on the tributes. I feel like they need to have more speaking lines so viewers who are not so familiar with the book could understand their characters more and how dangerous they really are.
In terms of casting, everyone did pretty well. I'm still disappointed with Jena Malone being Johanna Mason but she wasn't so bad acting-wise.
The ending was a bit anti-climatic and there were less action here.
I realize I typed more criticisms but that doesn't mean the movie is bad. The movie was better than the first and I'm so excited for the next installment.
