I watched Paper Towns today. It's another movie based on the novel by John Green.Last year, we had the adaptation for The Fault In Our Stars which was quite a hit so it's not surprising that they made another one to recreate the success.
I actually read the book sometime ago and though I don't really remember much of it.But I do know that I didn't find it to be that impressive to be memorable so I can't say that I have been anxiously waiting for this movie. However, I still made it a point to watch it.
The movie's leading stars are Nat Wolff who starred in TFIOS and model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne.
It's another coming-of-age movie revolving around the story of two teenagers who met each other at an early age and after one eventful evening of extracting revenge to her enemies, Margot ( Delevingne) disappears and Q (Wolff) is dead set to find her, tagging along with him a couple of his friends who are all graduating with him. In a race against time, they follow Margot's clues that she left behind, hoping to meet their destiny.
Unlike TFIOS, the movie didn't pack itself with big stars but that didn't matter so much. There is one cameo that surprised some people in the theater and made some girls gasp.
I don't want to be such a spoiler but the ending may not be what everyone expects of a typical love story but it does show a different prospect and an outlook in young relationships.
The music is also quite good, though not as good as TFIOS' soundtrack.
I won't be surprised if there's another John Green novel-based movie that will be produced soon.
