One of my current new artists right now is the band called The 1975. They have this indie pop sound that is matched by the lead vocalist's accent and vocals.
They released their self titled album this year. Prior to its release, they released 4 EPs which included some of the songs that was included in this album.
One of their lead singles and probably the catchiest track of the year is Chocolate. It has a bouncy melody and has playful lyrics. Its a track that fans of mainstream as well as indie music will surely love.
What I like about this album is the 80's feel that is felt in the album. It's retro feel makes it stand out from other current releases. However, that does not mean that young people like me won't like it. Its melody and use of instruments will make you head bop and sing along to the lyrics which is well written.
The deluxe edition does not only contain the debut album but also the 4 EPs combined which is why it's worth the money spent on it. It's always great to see great talent to come out.
Top tracks: Heart Out, Girls and She Way Out
