Last Monday, I had a job interview at a company in Salcedo St. Makati. It's another agency type of company that focuses on organizational development and advertising. It's currently beefing up the marketing team which is why they are hiring. It was just one of those jobs I found in jobstreet and I randomly applied. I didn't expect to be contacted but I'm still glad I did. 


I was pleased to know that my interview was set around 2 pm and not early in the morning which gave me an excuse not to wake up early. Before the day of the interview, I already went to the company building to familiarize myself in getting there. It was just a 10 minute walk from Greenbelt 1 which is good for me. I decided to eat lunch in GB1 before going to the interview as I had time to spare. I arrived just in time before the appointment time.


The building doesn't have a facade that looks like it is modern, in fact it looks outdated and would fit in a Saudi Arabian community. It only had around 7 floors. I didn't count it but it's what it says on the elevator buttons. The office was on the 3rd floor of the building. If I counted correctly, there were only 2 offices on that floor including the one I applied to. I couldn't remember the other one. The office looks quite nice. Already better than my 2 previous offices.


The receptionist made me wait in the sofas right by the door until the HR assistant gave me a questionnaire to answer a few questions. After I finished the form, I was just instructed to wait for some time. It didn't take long though before I was called in by the HR for the interview.


She made me feel comfortable immediately and she was quite nice all throughout. It seems like she lives in my area or at least near it since she was quite enthusiastic upon asking how I traveled going to Makati. I would like to believe the interview went well. Although some of my mistakes would occasionally occur such as not being able to express my thought properly and not even getting to finish my answers. It was quite embarrassing but she didn't exactly look like she was disappointed by my answers. It just seemed like we were chatting the entire time. We had a couple laughs in between which was good and didn't give an awkward space in the room. Towards the end, she revealed she was quite new to the company which was why she couldn't give a lot of info and which is probably why she was still nice. lol. She  told me she would get back to me whether I pass or not which is good rather than receiving the generic "We'll call you" response which is just another way of saying you just don't cut it, get out. She was nice enough to usher me out of the office and even asked me if I'm going back home, to which I responded that I'm headed to the gym. I didn't even realize that it was 3pm when I got out already. It didn't feel that long at all.


But I'm not really sure if I want the job. She did scare me about not having time to do other stuff which is part of why I hated my previous jobs. I am trying to look for other jobs that doesn't involve advertising but I don't really have much choice due to my limitations.


There is an upcoming job fair for my parent's company and I would like to try my luck there. I actually sent my resume to them months ago already but I never got a response. Maybe going there in person would increase my chances.


It's a job that I actually want since it's also my parents' job and I love the benefits so I'm praying that I'll get it.

Despite the heavy rains and lack of sleep, I went to the theaters to watch one of the most anticipated movies of the year, the final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises.


I admit I am not as excited to see this as other people do since I hated the first movie but felt the exact opposite when the second movie came out. It's good that I didn't have any expectations because this movie was quite good. I would place it behind TDK but not so far behind. Props to the cast who were all amazing. The movie was 3 hours long though I felt that some characters were under-utilized or not well-developed but the actors still showcased their talents. Many have doubted Anne Hathaway when she was casted as Catwoman but she proved that she can kick-ass and ended up having a lot of positive reviews for her portrayal. Joseph Gordon Levitt also shows his versatility by playing one of the detectives fighting along with Commissioner Gordon and Batman to keep Gotham City safe from trouble and later on, revealing a huge surprise by the end of the movie. Tom Hardy and Marion Cotillard were good additions to the cast, playing the villains. Christian Bale and Michael Caine likewise delivered.


I like the big twists in the movie but I was quite disappointed with the lack of action in the movie.


2012 is certainly a good year for superhero movies with all the recent success of The Avengers and The Amazing Spiderman.


I would like to say that my thoughts and prayers goes out to all those affected by the tragic incident in Colorado yesterday. 14 people died and 50 got injured during a midnight screening of TDKR when a shooter went on a shooting rampage inside the theaters while pretending to be the Joker. It's sad that this happened especially when all they wanted was to have some fun. I hope this won't happen again.

The 75th season of the UAAP has officially started yesterday. With NU hosting, many expected that the opening ceremonies will be grand with the acquisitions and developments from its new owner, Henry Sy. True enough, the festivities were kicked off at the newly built SM MOA Arena where most of the games will be held. The show was simple but decent to watch. I heard they spent 15 million for the opening ceremonies alone. Accdg. to the news report, more than 17, 000 were in attendance.


NU and UE was the first match-up of the season. NU did not waste time in making a statement to all teams by blowing out their opponent by 35 points! Not surprising as they are the pre-season favorites to go up against last year's champion team, ADMU. The second game was a very close fight between UST and FEU. UST led most of the match only to crumble in the end and lose by 1 point. But despite of the result, both of the two teams proved they are a force to reckon with.


Earlier today, DLSU got their first win against UP. I know they are not exactly one of the heavy favorites but I did not expect them to have such a hard time against UP. Maybe it's the first time jitters or the new arena but I was disappointed with the win that was almost taken away by the Maroons at the last minute. It's a good thing the players have a good composure at the end to keep up the small lead we had and finally seal the deal.


Lastly, the defending champs, ADMU had quite an easy time against ADU in the 2nd game.  It was quite predicable since ADU lost a lot of key players so the game got quite boring.


I think this will be an interesting season. I actually want to watch the next games on Thursday which will be held at Araneta since I like the games that will be played that day.


This week, The Dark Knight Rises will start showing in cinemas. I kinda lost excitement over that movie since I'm still on a Spiderman high but I'll try to get my ticket early! Speaking of ticket, I heard the Maroon 5 concert is almost sold out. I'm so sad cause I wanted to see them live so badly! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that tickets will be on my way soon.

An HR of a big company contacted me last week inviting me to explore career options with them. It was a surprise for me as I did not think I could qualify for any of their job openings due to my lack of skills and experiences. I got overwhelmed and informed him that I'll get back to him by this week. I did not apply to this company but he told me he got my resume from jobstreet. I did not apply in the company not because I wasn't interested but because of its location. It's a huge company but its location in Makati is a place where public transportation aside from cabs are not so accessible. It's my main worry if ever I get hired. Sure, the job might pay well but it might go all to the traveling expenses everyday which would be quite useless.

I'm trying to look for ways to get there from the internet but there's not a lot of helpful options right now. But I guess I might be taking myself far ahead. I might not even get a call from them again which I would regret later on.

I also notice a bump on my right foot. I'm scared that it's something medical and deadly but I researched online and it could be a ganglion, some sort of cyst that is benign and could go away on its own. I'm still scared though. I need to have it checked.

Today has been a slow day. I woke up late, surprised to hear my siblings arguing outside the room instead of being at school. I looked outside and saw the weather was pretty bad. Thankfully, the streets here were not flooded but the news reported a lot of flooding in other places.


I spent the entire afternoon downloading some music while chilling in bed. I hope the weather gets better tomorrow so I could go to the gym.


The day is about to end and it feels so short:p
