9/29/14

I spent my rest day yesterday by going out with 2 of my officemates. We watched the final installment of the Rurouni Keshin series in GB3 then had dinner at Burger Bar. We had some beer and dessert at separate restaurants after. The movie was good! I didn't watch the anime when it aired back then, but I liked the story and the fighting scenes. The food we had was great as well. It wasn't the first time I ate there but the last time I've been there was more than a year ago plus my companions haven't tried the place yet so I gladly recommended it since we couldn't come up with a place to eat.

It seemed like a normal boys' night out, but this night was different as it could possibly be the last time that the three of us get to hang out as one of us is leaving the company. I was hoping that he would change his mind, but after talking about his career move over dinner, I didn't bother convincing him to stay as I regrettably understood his decision. All we could do now is support him ad hope that we'll still keep in contact despite the proximity of his home city. It makes me want to explore the norther part of the city so we could still have gimmick nights in other places where it is convenient for other people including him. We're already making plans to go to a amusement park as one last hurrah and farewell to him and I am praying that it will push through as I am very sure that the atmosphere at work will be very different without him.

I myself is going through a stage where I am questioning what I am doing with my life. If only I had options, I would gladly consider them but right now, I am stuck in this rut and it sucks.

9/27/14

We just found out yesterday that our company has decided to change our company name. Everyone was surprised, but we couldn't do anything about it anymore. The new name sounds ugly and makes us look like food.

But on the brighter side of things, I'm so happy my shows are returning! I just had a season premiere marathon of Greys Anatomy, Bones and Modern Family last night at the office.

I'm also hanging out with some of my officemates tomorrow and watch a movie. We're actually watching a movie that bis a follow-up to a movie that we watched together last month so it's fitting that we watch the final installment together. It's also probably going to be the last time we hang out with one of our officemates since he is outbound already so it's a farewell of some sort, much to my dismay.

9/25/14

I can't believe the week is going by so fast! I can feel a lot of stuff happening in the next month and I don't think I'm prepared for it. The worse thing is, what I'm most worried about is the pain I'll feel emotionally rather than the stress from the workload. I just need a way to recover.

9/24/14

My fellow shiftmates had planned a simple diner at KFC earlier. Since some of us will be assigned to different shifts next month, this will be one of the few times that we will be complete.

It's not like we won't see each other but it will be a bit different with only 3 people left in our shift.

9/23/14

So I got to watch two movies that came out this year that I wasn't able to watch in the theatres, How To Train Your Dragon 2 and Maleficent. Both were nice movies. It's one of the few perks in my shift; being able to stream movies as long as the accounts aren't busy.

9/22/14

I finally got around to having my haircut today. It's still the same haircut that I usually do but just with a certain style added, a straight line shaved at one side.

I promised myself not to take a haircut until I reach a certain goal but that goal has somewhat changed. But I'm glad I got to try this hairstyle. I've always wanted to switch it up a bit.

The moving on stage is always difficult but I'm trying to distract myself as a start.

I think it's going well but the constant reminder is still there.

9/20/14

It hasn't really sunk in yet and that's what I'm afraid about. This feeling that will last for a long time and possibly join the wide array of repressed feelings I have never got the chance to let out.

Yesterday, another storm has damaged the city and it took me a hard time to go to the office because of the floods. I eve have to submerge my feet in floodwater just to ride a jeepney. But all those difficulties didn't really matter in the back of my mind. All I thought was getting to the destination and make sure that I get to see the person. It's so ironic that while I'm deeply saddened by the departure, he seems so light and doesn't even show hints that he's leaving. I assume he hasn't really announced it yet. I know it's probably something that he should really be talking about publicly and his decision is for his own good, but I just can't take this situation lightly. I hate that feeling of devastation and trying my best to detach my emotions almost never works. I hate to be weak and fall into a sinkhole. I can't really imagine myself working at that office anymore but that will go against everything I said before and that sucks.

I just wait for the time when I can finally find my true calling ad the right people that will last for a long time.

9/18/14

I'm feeling all sorts of surprise, shock, anger, disappointment, and sadness at the same time since last night. I found out a big career move by someone I know and though I expected it to come, I wasn't prepared for it to be so soon. I can't explain all the details yet as I don't even know the timeline and how much I have to spend but I know that it will be very soon. I think it's time that I try to take a look at myself and analyze my life decisions and options that I still have.

9/17/14 - The Maze Runner

I finally saw one of the movies I've been wanting to see, The Maze Runner. When I saw the trailer a few months ago, I thought that the movie would be interesting even if the story doesn't seem different from other similar genres. I even downloaded the books from where the movie is adapted from. I just don't have the time to read it yet as I still have a pile of e-books to read.

The movie stars Dylan O' Brien who is known for his role on Teen Wolf and now making a crossover on the big screen.

The movie is all about this group of kids who are thrown into a disclosed land where they have learned to live together and create it their home. Surrounding their space are huge walls which opens up into different mazes. There are assigned "runners" who goes inside the maze and try to find an exit. But here's the catch, these walls are only open for a certain amount of time everyday ad those who don't come back are stuck and doesn't survive as the maze changes itself and because of the "grievers" who are creatures who attack them.

They have learned to create a community.Every month, another person is sent to their location and their memory is missing aside from their names which is the only thing they remember. Here comes Thomas (Brien) whose inquisitive nature forces him to break some rules, gain the trust of other people as well as get questioned by other authorities.

It has a good share of action and surprising scenes to keep you on the edge of your seat. It reminds me of a particular TV show but it might be too much of a spoiler.

It still falls victim to the weakness of other book-turned-movies which is the lack of backstory as well as intorduction to some characters but the movie shows an attempt to do so and created a good segue to create a sequel since the book is a trilogy. The camera work on some action scenes also leaves a lot for improvement as it was quite hard to see what was going on.

Overall, it's an entertaining movie that could have been better but not necessarily bad.

9/15/14

Back to work today and it went a bit smooth. Finished the second season of Dawson's Creek as well as tried a different restaurant to have dinner for a change. I've also gathered some streaming links to some movies to get me prepared for the next days in my shift.

My left eye is bothering me though. I think I have a "kuliti"or an eye inflammation. I hope it will disappear soon. I've also decided to skip gym this week. There was supposed to be a storm today but it already left when I woke up this morning. But I was still lazy and decided not to work out, which is a first for me. I also had to work solo shift for a short while since my shiftmates were doing field work but they were able to go back to the office just in time.

9/14/14

I found out that the goal I've set for myself this past week was broken. It's heartbreaking but it's not so uncharacteristic of me for it to happen. I've long admitted to myself of my situation that will ever go away but it's not bad to try.It just hurts no matter what.

9/13/14

I'm glad this 6-day work week is over! It's been fun but it has also been exhausting. There's also at least 2 more weeks this month, 2 weeks to try and keep my KPI at a decent level.

Some of the shows I watch are also coming up by next month and I'm excited about that!

9/12/14

I just realized that today is my 4th month at work. It's been quite an experience. Sure, there are things I don't like but overall, it's been a great journey so far with my officemates.

That only means that I'm going to be up for regularization by next month. I don't know if they'll give me an offer due to the errors I've committed but I'm not even sure if I'll extend if I do get a offer to extend.

9/11/14

I assisted in a store visit and photo shoot last Tuesday with my officemates for one of our clients. It was a very fun experience and it's good to see doing a professional photographer do his thing and actually helping him take the pictures, even if that means he gets to order me around to do stuff. We had to shoot their food and got to eat them for free.

It was something I volunteered for to break the monotony of what I do in the office and I'm glad I did cause I may not get to experience it again in a long time.

9/7/14

This week is gonna be busy! But I don't think I mind it at all. I've gotten used to it. It's nice that I got this weekend before this upcoming 6 day work week.

Our monthly meeting is coming up in a few days and I'm nervous about my presentation. I already expect to receive negative news about my KPI so I'm not bothered by it anymore.

9/6/14 - Bazooka Rocks Festival 2014

Last weekend, the third annual Bazooka Rocks Festival was held at the SMX Convention Center. The line-up for this year's event was so big that it had to be divided into two nights. I would have wanted to watch both but circumstances prevent me from doing so ad I ended up watching the second show which is totally not bad at all.

I was actually in the area by noon but I decided not to go to the venue at first since I wasn't interested with the bands that played early on. I hadlunch first before having a quick stroll at the mall.

I entered the venue sometime around 3 pm. The place seemed more organized than last year's and I'm surprised that the queues for the merchandise were ot that long. There were plenty of food stalls and the chairs were better than the previous festivals. Echosmith was the first band I like that played. It's nice to see people support them but I can't emphasize how beautiful Sydney, the vocalist, is. I couldn't take my eyes off of her during the entire set.
The Summer Set was the next band to perform and they were fun to watch I saw them live 2 years ago and it's such a pleasure to see them again to perform their songs from their album released last year.
Another band that I've seen live plenty of times before performed next. We Are The In Crowd rocked the crowd with their upbeat energy and despite seeing them before, this is the first time I've watched them in a close distance. I loved hearing some of my favorite songs like Kiss Me Again and Never Be What You Want.
UK rock band You Me At Six was the last one to perform and they brought the house down with their set! It was their first time to perform in our country and they mad a good first show here. I was't really that big into them but they just proved how great they are. They seem to love the fans so much and they are very good live acts. Their latest album is so good and it's been o repeat for the entire week.

The event ended quite early, even before midnight but that wasn't a problem for me since I still had to report to work on the following day. I got to purchase some band merch and overall had a good time. I can't wait for next year's festival. I hope they make it just one show though.

9/4/14

The week is almost over! I'm so relieved but before it does, I'll be having a heavy day tomorrow with the task that I'm assigned to. Either I end the day with a dozen errors or prove that I can do well.

9/3/14

Everyone seems to be in a basketball frenzy this week with our country's national team playing in a tournament overseas. I'm not a big basketball fan, but it's nice to see people to be this passionate even for once. Despite the lost cause, the team was still able to put up a good fight to all participating teams. If only I had so much passion for a certain sport.

9/2/14

I feel like I've been saying this every month but I can't help it. It's really not off to a good start at work. I don't know what excuse I can give this time but it's just so frustrating.

9/1/14

Yesterday's Bazooka Rocks was quite amazing! My body hurts so much and and I am skipping gym today. But it was worth seeing all those bands play live. I barely got any sleep so good luck to me in the office.
